Lead Design Engineer (3 Years Experience) - (Job ID: YI0120LDE)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Lead Design Engineer is responsible for leading transportation project activities with a focus on traffic design and quality control of engineering design deliverables. Specific duties and responsibilities include: coordinate transportation project tasks including channelization, traffic control, Intelligent Transportation System, lighting, and signal design plans; communicate with clients to develop project specifications and special provisions, to prepare cost estimates, and to prepare and present project findings; lead electrical design tasks such as electric service applications, electric service connection designs, and electrical designs to provide electrical service to the signal system; coordinate and review illumination design and analysis for roadway and parking facilities using AGi32; provide quality control review of work by peer and junior engineers, as well as other staff to ensure the quality delivery of projects; support project managers in project management and project control such as developing project scope of work, client coordination, budget preparation, schedule management; and train and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications:

The minimum requirements for the position include a Master’s degree in civil engineering or transportation engineering, plus a minimum of 3 years of transportation engineering or traffic engineering experience, including 3 years of experience in each of the following: preparing traffic engineering design plans, including channelization plans, traffic control plans, signal design plans, lighting plans, and Intelligent Transportation System plans, using engineering drafting tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation; preparing engineering cost estimates and specifications; performing electric service applications, electric service connection designs, and electrical designs to provide electrical service to the signal system; performing illumination analysis and illumination design using AGi32 for roadway or parking facilities; and developing project scope of work, coordinating clients, preparing budgets, and managing schedules. Must also have or be eligible to obtain a Washington state Professional Engineer (PE) license. All experience may be gained concurrently.

The Lead Traffic Operations Engineer will perform engineering design and analysis in the areas of transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic safety, and traffic operational analysis. The duties of the position are as follows: reviewing and leading preparation of traffic control and signal design plans using AutoCAD (including signal phasing and timing optimization), specifications and cost estimates; leading transportation planning level studies; developing simulation models to evaluate multimodal (cars, buses, light rail, streetcars, pedestrians, bicyclists, trucks) transportation corridor and network operations using SIDRA, Synchro, VISSIM and VISUM; preparing technical reports for traffic analysis and transportation planning studies, presenting traffic analysis results to clients, and attending public meetings; supporting project managers with task delegation and project control, such as scope and fee preparation and negotiation, coordinating client meetings, and project budget and schedule management; and training and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications:

Electrical Engineer (1 Year Experience) (Job ID#2839121)

Concord Engineering is a rapidly growing transportation and electrical engineering firm located in downtown Bellevue and Seattle.  Our primary goal is to provide our clients with creative and innovative solutions to build safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems.

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Seattle.  Qualified applicants will be available to start no later than December 1, 2019, have at least one year of relevant work experience and will have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform detailed designs for electrical overhead and underground secondary level distribution systems
  • Joint-use engineering services that include designing make-ready-work and producing engineering plans
  • Intelligent transportation system planning and design
  • Illumination analysis and circuit design for roadway and parking facilities
  • Electrical design for bus station amenities such as pedestrian lighting, real-time information technology pylon, wireless access points, antenna, and bus shelter lighting
  • Communication system design that includes fiber optic and control cabinets

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in the electrical engineering industry
  • Minimum Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • EIT in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and National Electrical Code (NEC) preferred
  • AutoCAD proficiency
